PUBLIC SPEAKING Syllabus

Tired of making judgement calls and decisions on the fly? Instructors who teach performance-based classes are faced with unique circumstances, but you'll no longer agonize over decisions when you use my public speaking syllabus.

My syllabus is extensive. It has evolved over 23 years in the classroom. If you don’t know me, you might think I’m rigid and tough; however, if you could meet my students, they’d tell you that I’m fair, that they appreciate knowing my expectations, and that my class is a lot of fun.

You may take or leave any policy or any of my wording as long as you comply with my Terms of Use. For example, my students are required to stash their cell phones in a hanging pocket caddy during my public speaking class. If you want your students to keep their cell phones with them in your classroom, just remove the cell phone policy from the syllabus. Do whatever works for you! No judgement.

I print my syllabi for distribution to students and parents, and I also post them in Google Classroom.
