What educators are saying

I tried out the free PBL resource for a math enrichment group and have purchased 3 more already! They are filled with fantastic learning opportunities!
My second graders (my high flyers) had a great time with this PBL during small group time. They enjoyed feeling like a big kid doing a project. It was very kids friendly too.

Description

Math Project Based Learning, Math Enrichment & Challenge

This math PBL project will have your students practicing real-world math applications while having a BLAST! This project based learning task is a great extension and enrichment activity for your early finishers. This math activity allows them to design a water park! They must make several decisions about the park, practicing several common core math standards along the way. Students will love acting as a park owner, and you will love the enriched math practice they get along the way.

This pack would be great for enriching second graders, perfect for third graders, and even a great review for upper grades! This is perfect for an end of the year cumulative or spiral math project!

This product is DIFFERENTIATED for you and your students, and includes U.S., Australian, and Canadian versions!! It also includes both Printable & DigitalGoogle Slides versions.

HERE ARE THE TASKS STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE:

•The Attractions: Students use addition/subtraction within 100 or 1,000 (differentiated) to select the attractions for their park.

•The Water Park Layout: Students measure the attractions using an inch ruler and lay out the park based upon the measurements. (cm option included)

•The Lifeguard's Schedule: Students create a schedule for the lifeguard to make sure water attractions are monitored and safe for guests.

•The Float Shop: Students help others purchase fun floats for various activities at the water park. They'll help them count their money and make decisions on what they can and can't buy.

•Build the Splash Pad: Students can design and sketch a splash pad using 3-D shapes.

•How's Business?: Students examine data about different attractions' popularity and create a bar graph using the data. Students answer questions based on the data and bar graph.
