What educators are saying

Very well put together resource that is engaging for the students. It's easy to follow and makes doing a novel study fun!

Description

This is a study guide for the book Owl Diaries: Eva's Treetop Festival, by Rebecca Elliott. I hope you find this to be a convenient and useful resource for your students as they embark on this fun early chapter book.

Included in this packet you will find:

*A “Character Counts” chart for your students to fill in as they read and learn more information about the characters in the story. Chart elements include: Personality, Likes/Dislikes, Friends, and “What role did this owl play in helping with the festival?”

*Pre-reading questions. This is a 1-page assignment where students do a quick book scan to get a feel for the story before they begin reading. It can act as a great anticipatory set!

*Chapter-by-chapter questions. There are a variety of questions throughout this packet, including factual questions, predictions, vocabulary, drawing, cause and effect, grammar (parts of speech), and making connections to one's own life.

*Book Review page. Students respond to questions about their opinion on the book.

*Plan Your Own Festival Activity (to use as a final activity)

*Answer Key—included at the end of the document!

Please view the preview file to get a closer look! Enjoy!
