Overview of Nonverbal Communication: Lesson Plan & Prezi

This is a one-hour lesson plan overview of nonverbal communication that could be used in a public speaking course or other course in the social sciences.

The five-page lesson plan covers eight channels of nonverbal communication and includes photos, graphics and links or suggestions for videoclips. YouTube videos are embedded in the Prezi; instructions are provided to find free videoclips from "The Simpsons."

The lesson plan includes a 20-minute (approximate time) activity based on an improv comedy game called Silent Take. This was one of the most popular activities in my classes.

Two possible "if time" topics are suggested if you wish to spend more time with the topic and one written assignment is suggested.
