Outdoor Education Unit - Survival

This unit covers the basics of how to survive should the worst happen (hopefully you never find out...) - what mindset do you have? What are the 5 survival elements? What to do when natural disasters happen? What to do when "things" go wrong and you must rely on what you know?

This is a stand-alone unit of work designed around a Year 9 Outdoor Education program but can be adapted to suit Years 7 - 10. There is a lot in this unit (170 pages with both colour and B&W options) and it is aimed at 4 weeks or so, depending on resources and timetabled classes available. However, depending on your needs and the depth of the work this unit could easily extend to several more weeks if need be. This could also form the basis of an excursion into the outdoors to 'test' some of the thoughts and ideas presented here.

The unit is also flexible to meet student, school and teacher needs accordingly.
