Order of Operations Skit
Description
This short skit is a fun way to teach the Order of Operations. It was created for students at roughly a 4th grade level in Math. It is designed for 8 characters, each of which has a speaking part. The part of Math Kid 2 would be best played by an older student or even a teacher because it involves explaining the steps being taken in solving a problem with multiple operations.
The characters in the skit are mostly the different operations in math, plus two kids who are trying to solve a problem with multiple operations. There is comical banter back and forth between the different operations because they each think they are the most important.
The characters in the play have very similar amounts of speaking parts, the character with the most lines is the child playing Parentheses and the character with the smallest amounts of lines is Math Kid 1.
