Description
Scavenger hunt activities are such a hit in my class! In the PDF there are 12 pages, each with an order of operations question. The teacher should post these around the classroom. Students can pick any of the papers to start with. The bottom half will have a question. Students will complete the work on their paper, and arrive at an answer. The answers to questions are on the top half of each paper. Students will look around the room for the correct answer, and then go to that paper to complete the next problem, and so forth. I usually model this in class for students to get an idea of what the activity looks like. They love having the chance to move around! As a teacher, I also love it because students can check their own work - if they get an answer that they don't see, they know they did something wrong and can try to find their mistake. Students can keep track of the order they complete the questions by writing down the letter in each corner of the paper. If done correctly, it will spell out MATHLIKESYOU (although it will look different depending on which question they start with, so something like ATHLIKESYOUM is also correct). Also included is a student paper for students to write down the letter order they get and space to show their work for each question!
