Description
Do some of your upper elementary students struggle with READING FLUENCY? This PYRAMID SENTENCE BUNDLE is a great way for 4th, 5th, 6th, and even 7th and 8th graders to become familiar with SIGHT WORDS. Using words that are commonly used in upper elementary grades, this reading intervention allows for painless oral reading practice.
The 100 fluency task cards are written as pyramid sentences, so students start with the first word and work their way down until they’ve read the complete sentence. The repetition of words helps solidify them in the student’s memory, making their ORAL READING more fluid and natural.
My students appreciated this practice and grew in confidence as they mastered these!
How to use these Reading Fluency Task Cards:
- 100 cards that you can print out
- laminate for repeated use
- students work with a partner
- put the cards into two piles - "Sentences I Can Read" or "Sentences I Need to Practice"
- Fluency Monitoring Sheet for you to see progress
- Great for small groups, partner work, or a reading center
