Description

Do you love pocket chart rhymes and activities? These songs, rhymes and activities will make the fall season full of interactive learning in your preschool, pre-k or kindergarten classroom. This resources makes it so quick and easy to promote literacy and math with pocket charts.

There are 8 activities for October. Each week you will have an engaging interactive literacy or math activity and new rhyme to share with your students. This month you'll be ready for circle time or morning meeting in no time. Everything but the pocket chart is included! No wasted effort or extra materials needed. Just print and cut and laminate if desired.

Did you know you don’t even need to use a pocket chart for most of the activities? We often use them as magnet board activities. Just cut magnetic strips, stick on the back and you'll be ready to have movable pieces for your magnet board.

WEEK 1

Song/Rhyme: I’m a Little Pumpkin – A cute simple little rhyme with rebus cards for the actions. Your kids will love reading along.

Activity: Pumpkin Life CycleRead one of the great pumpkin life cycle books available. Have children use the pumpkin life cycle cards to learn about how pumpkins grow. Use the cards and vocabulary words (seed, sprout, vine, flower or blossom, green pumpkin, adult or orange pumpkin) in your writing center.

WEEK 2

Song/Rhyme: Five Little Pumpkins - Includes pumpkins for counting down. Children love this familiar rhyme. Several options are included for different variations on the rhyme.

Activity: Pumpkins on the Gate – Upper and Lowercase Letters - Gates are included each with an uppercase letter. Have children place the matching uppercase pumpkin behind the gate in the chart. Lower case letters are also included for differentiation.

WEEK 3

Song/Rhyme: I’m a Little Fireman – The children will love to read along with this fun rhyme. It makes a great rebus reader with the following pictures included: hose, helmet, fireman (and fire woman) fire, water.

Activity: Fire Truck Numbers Fire truck numbers designed for use multiple ways depending on your children’s needs. Numbers 1-31 are included so you can use them for calendar cards this October as well.
