This summer bulletin board kit is the perfect way to end the year and get excited for summer. Everything you need to make this bulletin board is included. Just print the pieces on paper, cut them out, and then attach them to your bulletin board or to your door. Please click the preview to view the pieces of this kit.
When you are done, the board states, "Diving into summer." Or you can use a different phrase, including an ocean-themed countdown to summer. Then you can use a student photo writing activity or fish writing activity to make it more meaningful.

STUDENT PHOTO WRITING ACTIVITY
To do the photo activity, print a picture of each student (a PowerPoint with instructions on how to size and print them is included). Give each student their photo and a summer graphic organizer. In the graphic organizer, students finish the following 4 sentences:
This summer,
I want to ________________________
I'm excited to __________________
I am going to ___________________
I think I will _____________________
After students finish filling out the sentences, they pick one (or more) of their answers and write it in a thinking bubble. Then they cut out everything and assemble their diver. Then you can hang their divers and thinking bubbles onto your bulletin board or door. When you're done, you'll be left with an eye-catching and meaningful board.
ALTERNATIVE WRITING ACTIVITY
Instead of using divers where students add their face, you can use sea animals. Students still write and color, but they don't use a picture of their face. Students can choose between an octopus, crab, dolphin, shark, jellyfish, or whale.
Watercolor sea animals are also included. They do not come with instructions. Students can write their name on them, or you can type students' names on them. Watercolor sea animals include: 4 different colored fish, octopus, crab, dolphin, whale, jellyfish, seahorse, and turtle.
EDITABLE WRITING PROMPTS/INSTRUCTIONS
If you want to change the writing prompt or any of the instructions, you can! Just open the PowerPoint and click on any of the text boxes. You can't edit the clipart, but when you click the text boxes, you can type your own writing prompt and/or instructions.
