    Bonus

Ocean Life Boom Reader with just the story, song and and Ocean Match Boom Cards

    Description

This Ocean Animals ELA bundle includes more literacy fun! Students will increase their reading comprehension and develop vocabulary while doing literacy activities with these fun and engaging Boom cards!

They can listen to the recorded voice reading or read it themselves. There are real pictures of these words, child friendly definitions, activities that include syllables, word parts, phonics, and finding the words in sentences . There is a teacher guide with at home tips.

We added 2 Boom decks in the bonus section at no extra cost to you! One deck is just the reader, song and questions for your differentiated needs and the second deck is matching the correct animal to the definition.

There is pocket chart activities with a fill in the blank sheet and a fluency worksheet with questions. It has the same vocabulary worksheets and word cards that the emergent reader has.

We have included our paper emergent reader with ideas on how to use it to teach phonics.

Students will be introduced to these words about ocean life.

    1. ocean
    2. coral
    3. octopus
    4. shark
    5. dolphin
    6. whale
    7. jellyfish

    And these 7 sight words:

    like

    pink

    children

    hear

    began

    will

    good

    large

All of these words are included in our July Calendar!

You could do a theme study on Ocean Life and introduce these words, read our Emergent Book or let students listen to the book on our Boom Cards and follow up with the vocabulary boom card activities. You may also choose to introduce the vocabulary first, then send students to listen to the Vocabulary Boom Cards, then read the story.

They can listen to the acapella song about Ocean Life on the Boom Cards Reader.

Some teachers also like using the paper emergent readers in their guided reading groups. These readers are great because kids love learning about science and social studies and seeing the real photos!

They all make great literacy centers! All of these resources include teacher guides.

Digital Boom Cards offer an easy way for teachers to assess their students. You can use these Boom Cards with your interactive whiteboard, tablets or laptops! They are self-checking so the students know when their answers are correct.

Make sure you click on preview at the top and you can try out this fun game! Click Follow to see all of our new resources!

Parents: We have included a sheet that has the words you can print and use. It is a nice way to incorporate kinesthetic with digital learning. We have also included a teacher guide with ideas on how to use the vocabulary word cards. There is also a sheet with the words from the emergent reader for students to illustrate.

    What's a BOOM CARD?

To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for modern Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires. For security and privacy, adults must have a Boom Learning account to use and assign Boom Cards. You will be able to assign the Boom Cards you are buying with "Fast Pins," (a form of play that gives instant feedback to students for self-grading Boom Cards). For assignment options that report student progress back to you, you will need to purchase a subscription. If you are new to Boom Learning, you will be offered a free trial.
