What educators are saying

This is/was a great resource for my 2nd graders. I used this with all students, but modified it further for students who needed extra visual support. Great resource!!
My students enjoyed learning how to research and it went perfectly with our field trip to a local marine life animal park.

Description

OCEAN ANIMALS - TEMPLATES FOR A GUIDED RESEARCH PROJECT

This STUDENT REPORT TEMPLATE is a great way to support primary children as they learn how to research information and write in explanatory or informative forms. This resource will complement a study of animals that live in the ocean and will provide a purpose and audience for your students to share their new knowledge.

During this research project, each of your students will select a sea animal to learn more about, draw diagrams with labels, tell about its habitat and diet, discover whether it is gentle or dangerous, and share amazing facts.

This research could be structured individually or in cooperative pairings or small groups, allowing the children to learn with and from each other. Plan for a sharing expo where the students can showcase what they learned.
