Description

Do your students struggle with self regulation? Have you heard of interoception but don't know how to teach it or where to start? Are you frustrated with lack of progress with self regulation curriculums? Then this resource is for you.

Interoception is the inner sense that helps us notice our body sensations such as heartrate, breathing, bladder or stomach fullness, and how our brain might feel. When students are unable to recognize their interoceptive signals and/or link them to emotions/feelings (needing to use the bathroom, eat, take a break, etc), they often have difficulty learning how and when to implement the strategies that they are taught in most self regulation curriculums.

This 5-day curriculum is designed to be used with a group or individual students and can be done using virtual platforms. Some students may benefit from having the activities spread over a longer period of time to ensure understanding.

Students will improve their self regulation skills once they learn to interpret their body sensations related to different emotions.

They will learn strategies to prevent meltdowns at home and in the classroom.

Included in this guide:

  • 4 days worth of homework activities
  • 2 differentiated word searches for fast finishers
  • Recommendations for how to modify for learners with developmental delays.
