Description
Working on self regulation, self control, and/or coping skills is a lot more engaging when in a game format. Games are an ideal adjunct to social emotional learning curriculums to solidify learning. Can be used along with the Zones of Regulation program and How Does Your Engine run?.
With this game, kids will answer questions in the following categories: Size of the problem, Size or Type of Reaction, and Strategies.
This self regulation game can be played with multiple students at a time. The questions do not have one correct answer, instead they are designed to be discussed in order to add to the student's learning. The game is appropriate for students with ADHD, Autism, developmental delay, emotional regulation issues, or typically developing students who may need to work on emotional or physical self regulation/self control.
This resource includes:
- Game board with rules (rules on first slide, Game board on second slide)
- 20 slides related to size of the problem
- 20 slides related to size or type of reaction
- 20 slides related to strategies
Important: Game must be played in "Present" mode. After rolling a die (not included), the player will click on the corresponding square. This will take them to a different slide. After answering the question, click on "return to game". On subsequent turns landing on the same square, the player will first go to the same question slide. Click on "round 2", "round 3" or "round 4" as appropriate to get a different question.
10/13/21 Added game pieces by request. In order to move the game pieces, you must by in "Edit" mode. You will need to switch between present mode and edit mode in order to use the game pieces and play the game correctly.
If you choose to edit the game or slides in any fashion, please be careful and aware of the links that exist on each slide. If the links are changed, it will impact game play. (editing is not recommended)
**TpT will ask you to allow access to your Google Drive. Many teachers choose to use a personal Drive for this and then share with their work Drive. This is only done in order to add the resource to your drive.
**You will need one die to play the game.
