What educators are saying

I needed this. I was running out of ideas in Health class. Now the students can choose how they want to display mastery.
This was really fun for my students. It's around testing time for their core classes, so this was a nice way for them to have something important but entertaining to do.

Description

Teach nutrition, decision making, effective communication, and more with this no-prep nutrition project. Just print and go. Perfect for schools that are one-to-one with devices or have an extensive library for research, this resource is everything you need to serve as the backbone of your nutrition unit or a culminating project to assess what they've learned. This project can be assigned to individual students or groups.

This resource includes:

  • A learning menu. The learning menu includes four sections: Appetizers, Main Courses, Side Dishes, and Desserts. Topics covered range from fast food to snack food, breakfast, nutrients, school lunches, and more. Students will choose one "appetizer", one "main course", three "side dishes", and one "dessert" to round out their project.
  • A choice board. After students choose which portions of the project to do, they also get to choose how to share that information. They may choose a video, a presentation, an essay, a brochure, or any combination of multiple other suggestions. This aligns to health standards regarding communication skills, valid information, and advocating for health.
  • A project planning page. This optional page allows students to plan out each portion of their project before diving into the research.
  • A rubric. This rubric lays out each section of the project and lists concrete criteria that align to health education standards.
