Why I love it:
As a 1st and 2nd grade math teacher I often see my students rush to add or subtract numbers together without stopping to really think about the problem. They are often so eager to solve word problems that they do not stop to truly understand the problem. Numberless word problems allow my students to stop and visualize the problem, discuss what is happening, and brainstorm possible ways to solve it. This leads to great math discussions and I have seen it really transform the way my students approach solving word problems.
