Number Talks and Subitizing to 10 for Kindergarten Bundle with Google Slides

Students need many opportunities to discuss their thinking when it comes to math concepts. This bundle of resources is intended to be used as part of your daily math block in helping your students talk about math concepts during a 'number talk'. In order for your students to develop number sense and addition and subtraction fluency, it is crucial that they talk about math concepts every day. You can decide how many slides you would like your students to discuss on a daily or weekly basis. This bundle resource will allow them to 'talk' about the following Kindergarten math concepts:

(K.CC.B.4) When counting objects, say the numbers in order, pairing each object with only one number and each number with only one object (one-to-one correspondence) up to 20

(K.CC.B.4) Understand the last number said (when counting) tells the number of objects counted (Cardinality)

(K.CC.B.4)Understand that each successive number refers to a quantity that is one larger

(K.CC.B.4)Understand that the number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted

(K.CC.B.5) Count up to 20 objects in a scattered configuration

(K.CC.C.8)Quickly Identify a number of items in a set from 0-10 without counting (Subitize) (e.g. rekenrek, dominos, dot cubes, ten-frames, tally marks)

(K.CC.A.3) Read numerals up to 20

(K.CC.A.3) Represent a number of objects between 0 and 20 with a written numeral

(K.AS.1) Add and subtract within 10 using various strategies and manipulatives

(K.OA.A.4) Find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number (e.g., by using objects or drawings) and record the answer with a drawing or equation

(K.OA.A.5) Fluently add and subtract within 10 by using various strategies and manipulatives

(K.MD.C.6) Identify pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and know the value of each

(K.MD.C.5) Read time to the hour on digital and analog clocks

I also have Math Number Talks for the entire year for 1st grade if you need more challenging slides for your students. I taught 1st grade last year and am returning to Kindergarten this year. My students loved our "Number Talk" time.
