What educators are saying

This was difficult to implement mid-year, so I'm really looking forward to using it from the beginning in September.

Description

These number talk hand signal posters can be used during math discussions, number talks, and during math meetings. I laminated my posters and stuck a magnet on the back of each poster. They are posted on the whiteboard at the front of my classroom. Students hold up hand signals to stay actively engaged in our math conversations. This also allows me to informally assess each student’s understanding. A printer-friendly copy is also included.

The following posters and wording are included:

I'm thinking about a solution.

I agree because...

I have the solution and one strategy.

I have the solution and two strategies.

I solved it differently.

I have a different answer.

You may choose to use all of the posters with your students or only a few that work for you and your classroom. I suggest introducing one or two at a time until students understand when and how to use the hand signals during your math meeting or number talk time.

A variety of skin tones are available for the color-print posters.

This product is not editable and wording appears in the way it is shown and listed in the description.

I hope you enjoy these simple and effective math signal posters! If you have any questions prior to purchasing, please do not hesitate to reach out via email at christina@missdecarbo.com
