Task Preview:

  • Task 1: Students will cut out nine answer strips to match to the correct note names. The numbers on the strips will help solve a puzzle that requires moving up, down, left, and right on a number chart.
  • Task 2: Students will demonstrate the ability to write notes on the staff. Proficiency is checked by writing down which line or space the note goes in. Adding the sums of their rows of work will help them solve 4 true/false questions.
  • Task 3: Students will spell words with the note names. After they have a list, they will sort them into three categories and do some addition to find the answer.
  • Task 4: Students will match vocabulary terms to find two secret answers. They will use these two answers to determine which activity to complete on page 2 of task 4.
  • Task 5: Students will determine if the secret code has been properly translated or not. They will use math skills to determine the final secret number.
