Description

It is that time of year again. You know the time of year when you are pulling out your hair and trying to find the most concise way to review strategies for responding to standardized test writing prompts with students. This document was born out of a desire to provide my students with as much support and examples as in a single document. I wanted to give them something they could use in their future English courses. I created this document through active research in my classroom and by identifying and analyzing gaps in students' learning and curriculum. I hope this document saves you time and helps students succeed.

Contents:

One six-page document includes directions for breaking down prompts to understand and respond to them, an overview of the Narrative Writing Task, Research Simulation Task, and Literary Analysis Task similar to what students might see on a LEAP 2025 or PARCC-style assessment, a suggested outline for responding to the Literary Analysis Task and the Research Simulation Task is also included.
