Note from Substitute Teacher - EASY, EDITABLE Sub Forms for All Grade Levels

"Soooo... how did class go yesterday?"

Being a substitute it is tough. Your job is to fill someone else's shoes and quickly adapt to fit the needs of a classroom that is new to you. After a day of juggling new names, faces, and lessons, you have to communicate clearly and thoroughly what happened while the teacher was out. Teachers, leaving your classroom for a day (or more!) is tough. You want to know exactly how much work was done, who had to leave for their orthodontist appointment halfway through the test, and what the heck went on while you were away!

Enter: the sub note!

This editable digital download includes two types of sub notes in a single document. These sub notes are elegant, easy to read, and perfect for any grade level. The first page is the "short form" sub note, which is a no-frills half-sheet intended to give a teacher a quick rundown of the classes they missed, including essential information such as class participation, absent/tardy/leave early students, and more. The second page of the document is the "long form" sub note. The long form is a full page and provides you with more opportunities to give more details about things like student behavior, common questions students had, student spotlights, etc. For the substitute or teacher who appreciates thoughtful, thorough information, the long form is ideal!

You can mix and match these forms depending on the needs of a particular class and/or teacher. For the study hall with three students? Short form all the way. For the history class with 38 students and a lot of personality? Sounds like the time for the long form to shine.

Once you've downloaded the file, you can customize the form to include your name and contact information in the headers, or add your own personal message at the bottom of each sub note. No matter how you tailor this form, teachers will appreciate your dedication and organization!
