Note Writing Packet Bundle (Sets 1-4) Rubrics and Printables

Overview: This Bundle includes the entirety of Sets 1, 2, 3, and 4 in my TpT Store. These Sets are in sequence with the Feierabend Method of Musical Literacy, though can be used by any music education practitioners. I set out to put these worksheets and manipulatives together for my own use in the music classroom. My goal was to create a minimalistic, approachable, and functional set of worksheets and tools to help students 1) learn to write the notes they've been using in class and 2) give them an outline to compose using the notes. There are a number of resources beyond the worksheets for students (listed below) that I hope you'll find helpful. All of these are materials that I've personally used. Special thanks to the music teachers who helped me refine these worksheets & directions included! You know who you are.

Sets Overview:

Set 1: Quarter and Eighth Note (Duple Meter)

Set 2: Eighth Notes in groups of Three & Dotted Quarter Note (Triple Meter)

Set 3: Quarter Note + Eighth Note Combo (Triple Meter)

Set 4: Do, Re, and Mi in the Key of F

Each Set/Packet Includes:

-Directions for Use (For Teachers and Students)

-Note Writing Worksheet (Students copy the notation shown).

-Create a Song Worksheet (Students create their own composition using the notes studied in that set)

-Rubrics for grading both pages (including Self Evaluation for Students)

-Full Page Staff Paper Printable (to practice writing notes on a music staff)

-Full Page with 8 blank measures (to practice writing notes)

-Printable versions of note "index cards" ( Eighth Notes in groups of 2, Quarter Note, Eighth Notes in groups of three, Dotted Quarter Notes, Quarter Note + Flagged Eighth Note Combo, Treble Clef, Key Signature - F Major, Time Signatures: 2/4, 6/8, Pitches on the Treble Clef: F, G, and A) *I would NOT reccomend cutting and laminating all of these at one time. If you're going to make your own packets then make these manipulatives one unit at a time. Your wrists will thank you.

*I print the blank staff paper and 8 blank measures on opposite sides of cardstock. After lamination, the students are able to use dry erase markers and practice writing notes and dictations on them.

Use: Purchasing this product allows the purchaser to print unlimited copies for their students. Please do not distribute to other teachers.
