Note taking and paraphrasing are essential skills for students to master in order to become effective researchers, confident communicators and proficient writers.

I created this resource to include everything you need to effectively teach and practice note taking and paraphrasing with your students. A key focus within each activity is 'reading purpose', which is especially important during research based tasks. Each activity and reading task card is accompanied by a 'research question' so that students are actively practicing locating information that connects with specific questions, just as they would when conducing their own research.
