Non-fiction Article Critical Reading- Word Doc

With 'fake news' so prevalent, our students need to be taught how to read with a critical eye. Guide students through reading of a fact based article with this document. The form can be used with any non-fiction article at any reading level. Each student can be encouraged to choose an article that interests them while being taught how to critically evaluate the resource.

Students will be asked to: identify main idea/hypothesis, cite support, find bias, identify unknown vocabulary, compare a similar article, take a side.

This resource includes a teacher guide with suggestions for acceptable answers and ways to guide student thinking toward success.
