No Prep 5 day Propaganda Project (used with Persepolis)
Description
I created this project to teach students about propaganda and rhetorical devices with my 8th graders after reading Persepolis, but this project can be used easily with another other novel or in a Social Studies/History class.
This is a two part project where students research a piece of propaganda, analyze its rhetorical devices and message, and then share a piece of propaganda that they create. Their classmates will interact with their presentation by responding to each piece of created propaganda.
Digital copy includes:
- google slides introducing the project
- google slides with instructions for student work days (based on 45 minute periods)
- project explanation and work document
- project example template
- rubric
- links to other examples of propaganda
My students especially loved creating their own propaganda. I structured this with another activity in between work days and presentations as a buffer for additional work time, but you could do straight into presentations after their work days.
