Description

Brighten up your curriculum with this nonfiction Common Core aligned science and literacy unit involving the aurora borealis. The nonfiction reader gives an in depth explanation of how and why auroras form. Students are challenged to apply, infer, and compare/contrast their knowledge of auroras. The science experiment included is sure to "light up" the smiles on your students' faces! Your students can also apply creative processes as they write a legend about how auroras developed (correlated to the book "Ulaq and the Northern Lights"), write poetry using similes or metaphors, and create the Northern Lights with a watercolor wash collage. Great for GATE and "home schoolers."
