New York State 2010 Grade 6 ELA Excel Spreadsheet

This is an excel file for collecting student data on the New York State 2009/2010 ELA/Math Assessments. Some knowledge of Excel is expected.

All you need to do is to add your class list of names and give the past NYS Assessment and score on the excel file.

For each question, you have information on standard used, performance indicator used, correct response for multiple choice and point value for extended response. Besides identifying individual results, each question gives a class summary on the number of students who got the correct answer and the percentage of students who got the correct answer thus identifying student and class weaknesses for particular performance indicators.

Overall summary gives a predictor for performance level based on the criteria set up by the 2010 NYS Assessments for each student and/or class performance. Thus the 2009 NYS Assessments results are set up with the higher cutoffs established in 2010.

Included in the excel file is information directing you to NYS sites for finding past assessments and scoring guides (2006-2010). You also have a contact email to address questions.
