Description
Your students can take part in creating this new years collaborative sign that says, “A new year means a fresh start.” They get to set goals and color their own piece!
It is a fun, creative goal-writing activity that becomes a colorful poster for a classroom bulletin board, hallway, library, or anywhere else it may be displayed.
42 pieces print on regular paper to make the poster. Students decorate their piece. They also write goals or things they want to try in the new year. Then they cut out their piece. All the pieces assemble into the large sign! The final sign will be about 4 feet by 4 feet.
Helpful instructions in the guide will help you create the poster.
Two versions are included:
- Version 1: The large letters print in black ink. Your students do not need to fill them in. (See page 3.)
- Version 2: The large letters print shaded, and your students color them in black. This saves you ink! (See page 46.)
Supplies: 8.5 x 11 paper for printing, markers or crayons, scissors, glue, and a large piece of bulletin board paper to attach all the pieces.
Note: You may want students to work in pairs or small groups to decorate a piece if you teach more than 42 students. If you have fewer than 42 students, you may have some students decorate more than 1 piece. Or, scatter the plain pieces through the poster, and it still looks great!
