Description

Neurographic Art project of a Butterfly is a comprehensive video tutorial for drawing and water colour pencil. This art lesson best suits grade 4, grade 5 and middle school. The video guide demonstrates and supports students to explore the elements of art in their drawing and painting skills. A bonus PDF teacher guide with templates, reference images and examples, is also included.

Use with upper elementary and middle school learners in a series of consecutive lessons. Encourage students choice options to create their unique version of the drawing plan.

This lesson plan focuses on:

  • Using the elements of LINE & SHAPE to complete observational drawings, including adding details and TEXTURE
  • Using the elements of COLOUR & VALUE to paint the artwork and create FORM
  • Using the elements of SPACE by layering foreground, mid-ground and background
  • COLOUR - use analogous colour groups for shadow and light
  • Observational drawing using grid enlargement
  • Exploring free flowing neurographic lines and nodules

Stream the video lesson through a large screen for your students to follow along, pausing in places for them to complete the steps at their own pace, or rewind and rewatch when needed.
