Native American Lesson Plans - Songs and Hand Games for Elementary Music

Songs and Hand games are so fun for elementary students! This Native American unit plan is a small compilation of six hand games complete with songs and drum beats. Game instructions are included.

The songs are from Cheyenne tribes, mostly of Montana. The lyrics and melody have been transcribed by Little House Lessons, with help from Red Hawk Nation of NJ/NY. Songs have not been altered (to protect integrity) except to add octave pitches when the voicing gets too low for elementary students.

These Native American songs are appropriate for Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade and Sixth Grade music classes.

There are six Native American songs included and two games. Each game can be played with any of the songs - just mix and match.
