Native American Indigenous Heritage Activity CSI Mystery of History Bundle

This bundle includes mystery of history activities featuring the:

• Ancestral Pueblo Civilization: Student detectives will open the case of the the decline of the Ancestral Pueblo civilization of the Southwest cultural region. Students will learn about the culture and achievements of the Pueblo people, while learning about Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde, and more.
• Mystery of the Mound Builders: Student detectives will explore the Native American Adena, Hopewell, and Mississippian cultures of the Eastern Woodlands, and learn about the mystery and motives of the Mound Builders!

During each activity student detectives will view artifacts and supporting evidence and take detective notes on what they learn. They will then answer the reading comprehension response questions, complete a timeline activity, and draw their own hypothesis based on the background information and theories in the case file! Bonus letter writing extension activities are included as well for each resource.

These investigation activities can be used as printable packet activities, or as engaging stations classroom activities with groups! Teacher and student notes are provided, along with answer keys for the background reading comprehension activities.

These activities are designed to promote active learning and critical thinking skills, and have students think like historians. Students will practice making and justifying claims.
