Description

This resource includes thirty-four coloring pages. Each coloring page includes an illustration of a Native Amrican icon, their name, occupation and date lived. Use these coloring pages when researching and learning about a specific Native American (past or present).

Why coloring pages in the classroom?

  • increases fine motor skills for students of all age

  • encourages patience and relaxation
  • helps with concentration
  • provides an outlet for potential stress and anxiety
  • they provide a fun activity

Ideas for use:

  • Assign (or let students choose) one of the famous artist featured in this resource and let students do an independent biography research project.
  • Allow students to color one of the coloring pages while you read a non-fiction biographical book about one of the famous artists featured in this resource.
  • Use these coloring pages as additional activities during Artist Appreciation Month (August). Print off all of the coloring pages and create a mini-coloring booklet for each student.
