Description

Narrative writing is an engaging and fun way to allow kids to do what kids do best - tell stories! Check out our full-length preview!

What is included:

Characteristics of Narrative Texts – a one page list of features usually found in narrative texts.

Reviewing a Narrative Text – in these three pages, students will select or use a teacher-chosen narrative text to review. Students will read or scan the narrative text, checking off characteristics that they find, identify beginning/middle/end, and explore character traits and actions. Use these pages separately or all together as you see fit.

Write a Narrative – students will use the graphic organizers provided to plan and create their own narrative writing piece, paying attention to sequencing, plot development, character traits and actions, and more.

Narrative Writing (Peer Review) – Students will review the narrative writing of a classmate, checking off the features they have found (using yes/no checkbox format) and writing comments. This worksheet is ideal for the revising stage of the editing process.

Narrative Writing Rubric – Teachers can use this rubric to score student work on a four-point scale.

Narrative Writing Ideas – 20 ideas are provided for students to choose from, or they can choose another idea.

How to earn TPT Credits:

"Earn TpT Credits for purchases on TpT. You get one TpT Credit for every $ you spend on TpT. Thing is, you only get the Credits after you Provide Feedback -- both a fair rating and a fair comment -- on the items that you purchase. We will round up for you, too! If you provide fair feedback on a $4.75 item, you will earn 5 credits. Every 100 Credits is worth $5 that you can apply towards future TpT purchases, but there is no need to wait until you have 100 to redeem them. 50 credits is worth $2.50, for example."--TPT Credits Page
