Description
Narrative Writing Conferences can be frustrating and time consuming. You meet with a student, and give them notes, and you have them, but your student can't remember what they were supposed to write or change because you have the note.
I created this pack for teachers that need to implement a narrative writing unit, but are not able to use my stand alone mini unit but do want to use the checklists for conferences.
Here's what's included.
Narrative Writing Rubric - there are three rubric options. One is fully editable whole sheet and the other full sheet is only editable for the grade. I also have provided a half non editable sheet
They give descriptions that are very easy for parents to understand.
Narrative Writing *NON* Sticky note checklist-
this checklist is for my friends that can't print on sticky notes OR that want extra room to write notes. It has 4 to a page, or three to a page with extra room to specifically address a student's needs. It is very special because it has a typical checklist that students can work from, but has the narrative specific pieces. There are two check spaces - one that YOU as the teacher put in a check, and then, your student takes and places the note ON their writing. Once they complete it, they put a check in THEIR box and place the writing and sticky note in your pile to be checked. You then transfer the sticky note to your student's specific page to keep track of the notes and trends on what your student particularly needs help with each conference time.

Conference log - this allows you to keep track by week and put checks for each student so you know how often you are meeting with your students.
Conference Data Sheet - Print one for each child and then put their completed sticky notes in your binder. You can easily discuss student glows and grows from these for conferences or report cards.
Conference Binder Cover - Narrative Writing Cover for your binder.
Paper Choices- I have included two paper choices as well. It includes a vertical and horizontal sheet choice.
Brainstorming Sheet - I have included a brainstorming sheet for beginning, middle and ending of the story.
****5-5 update - added 4 to a page lists, single page, large list, and non-sticky note version as well. I added spine labels for your binder as well. Hope this is helpful!
