You will receive:

  • A template for students to use when planning the plot structure of their narrative writing. There are 4 versions: with text, without, mountain clipart, and character climbing the 'mountain'.
    The template adheres to the following narrative structure:

-Exposition

-Rising action

-Climax

-Falling action

-Resolution.

  • Second version planning template [Orientation, Complication, Events & Climax and Resolution]
  • Grade 3-4 Pencil Checklist: 3 color choice and B&W version
  • Grade 5-6 Pencil Checklist: structure pencil and language & features pencil. (color and B&W option) BOTH CHECKLISTS CAN ALSO BE FOUND IN HERE.

You can use these checklists to either score your students or get them to stick it in their notebooks as a reminder! Write their names and/or scores at the bottom of the pencil.

  • Narrative Writing Tips Poster [Use it as a guide and elicit the properties of a good narrative and write it on a A2/3 sheet or on the board as a class]
  • Narrative Writing Visual Prompts with notes and an animated spinning wheel (extra)
  • Comic Book Story Templates [to practice dialogue] (not included in page count) plus comic sticker page!
