Description

Narrative writing isn't just creative writing; introduce your students to narrative nonfiction in this 71-slide editable Powerpoint presentation, complete with editable student handouts and answer key.

Students will learn:

• the purpose of narrative nonfiction,

• the different types and forms of writing,

• how it is structured,

• the similarities and differences between narrative fiction and nonfiction,

• how the elements in fiction (i.e. setting, subjects, point-of-view, voice and perspective, story arc, and theme) apply to narrative nonfiction,

• and how to perform research for writing a narrative nonfiction piece.

The zipped file includes: an editable Powerpoint presentation, four pages of editable student handouts (in both Word and PDF formats), and four pages of a teacher's answer key (PDF). It also includes the presentation in PDF format for ease of printing or sharing with students. UPDATED to include the Google Docs and Google Slides versions for Google Drive. These can be shared on a SECURED platform such as Google Classroom.

This is great for flipped classrooms: have students go over the presentation and notes before writing a personal narrative essay.

This IS included in my Mega Writing Bundle.

Look for my additional resources for narrative nonfiction, coming soon.
