Reading Vocabulary Bundle
The key to helping students grow on NWEA MAP Testing is vocabulary! This NWEA MAP Testing System has been developed to meet each individual student's needs. Over 270 critical vocabulary words have been divided between 6 RIT bands. Each student can progress through their own individual RIT, test out of a particular RIT , and/or move onto the next RIT band.

HOW THE MATH NWEA PRACTICE WORKS:
*Quizzes are made to be printed double-sided so you only have one sheet to hand to students.
*Students are presented with seven new problems every other week (odd weeks) for nine weeks.
*Included problem tracking sheets allow teachers to find out what category of skills the entire class is having difficulty learning.
*The NWEA Math skills are spiraled by students receiving one problem of each type which are formatively assessed.
*Students self-reflect at the end of each assessment, discovering areas of accomplishment and improvement along the way.
*Students are provided foldable flash cards that allow them to study vocabulary within each RIT at home and in class. This should be done on the "even" weeks when a practice test is not given.
*An engaging Game Show (like Jeopardy) adds an additional 35 practice problems (per RIT band) that teachers can use for remediation, or for extra practice in the classroom.

*At the end of the nine-weeks, students progress to the next RIT band (if teacher believes it appropriate)




Reading Passages and Assessments
This product includes 36 reading passages with differentiated questions to help pin point student’s strengths and gaps.

The quizzes are organized by grade level and NWEA MAP RIT bands including 3rd (RIT 181-190), 4th (RIT 191-200), 5th (RIT 201-210), 6th (RIT 211-220) 7th (RIT 221-230), and 8th (RIT 231 and beyond). Each individual quiz includes a robust reading passage(s) with questions written at various depths of knowledge and covering vast essential reading skills. These skills include; word recognition, structure and vocabulary, reading informational text: key ideas, reading for understanding, reading informational text: craft, structure, and evaluation, and Reading literature: craft, structure, and evaluation. Each formative assessment includes a student self-evaluation sheet with strand/skill descriptors, teacher note section, and teacher answer key. The passages are all high quality original stories and/or public domain publications. Each grade level/RIT band includes non-fiction, paired passages, poems, fiction and procedural text.
