•Nonfiction reading passage about Norman Rockwell’s Four Freedoms The Saturday Evening Post art series with CCSS-aligned questions & answer key.
•3 writing prompts (1 narrative, 1 informative, 1 opinion) in 2 formats (choice board and prompt with lines)
•Research Sheet (with answer key). On it, students analyze and compare/contrast Norman Rockwell’s Freedom from Want with Henry Ossawa Tanner’s The Thankful Poor. They can use the Internet to research and complete the compare/contrast chart. It includes space to Describe, Analyze, Interpret, Decide, and Compare/Contrast the two works of art.
•Create your own Freedom Poster Art Integration Activity (with rubric). Students create their own Saturday Evening Post Freedom poster based on a freedom they think is important.
•Freedom from Want Coloring Sheet

How I Use in My Classroom
I like to work with other teachers in my school and let the students rotate from room to room. We start by watching the videos. Students then rotate to the following activities for approximately 1 hour each.
