What educators are saying

This was a great resource. The kids really enjoyed learning this information! My class loves lacrosse and this was a great connection.
This was really informative and engaging for 5th graders. They loved reading about how intense the games were.

Description

Native American History: The Origin of Lacrosse, Craftivity and Printables

Perfect for back to school fall months- Native American literature, history/social studies, or in a physical education unit. Thanksgiving, culture, myths and legends. Or just because this one looks like fun! And it is very interesting!

This craftivity really appeals to both male and female students. Looks amazing when assembled and colorful for a bulletin board.

Includes:
Short Story (in booklet format for easy printing)
Cloze Activity AND ANSWER KEY
Questions (what do you think?)
Words to Know (the maturity words and the Indian tribes)
Coloring activity
Writing prompt (requires some textual evidence and opinion)

I recommend this for grades 2-5. The Pearson readability test put the short story's text in the grades 4-5 CCSS grade band. But of course, you know your students best.

skills/materials: cutting, gluing, coloring, painting (optional), reading and writing, a stapler is recommended
