There are three versions of each resource. This is the SymbolStix Version ( n2y)

This ASbyS offers a strong literacy component. There are two sets of animals each with their own launch page: Zoo animals and Farm Animals. Students are invited to choose a colored ball from the launch the page which navigates to another page where students are invited to guess the mystery animal using a sound effect cue and a literacy cue.

Animation 1: the previously selected colored ball rolls onto the page.

Animation 2: the ball is rattled and an auditory hint is provided, i.e., animal sound

(Note: the mystery name also present as an additional clue) What animal?

Animation 3: the ball is opened and the animal is revealed.

Pen Tool: Use the pen tools of the Interactive Whiteboard to fill in the missing letters of the animal’s name

Animation 4: reveals the correct spelling of the target animal’s name.

The Facilitator can either focus first on the mystery sound or first on the mystery word. The pen tool can be used to provide additional letters to support the guess.
