What educators are saying
Description
The concept of the Circle of Control is a valuable tool for children to understand whether something lies within their sphere of control or not. It can be especially beneficial for kids during stressful situations as it helps children approach problems with a proactive attitude rather than reacting to problems. Kids with anxiety, anger, lack of focus, motivation, or other social & emotional concerns will find it very useful too.
Recognizing what is in our control helps children cultivate a strong sense of control and self-efficacy, which are important building blocks for self-esteem.
Once they identify what really is in their control, they can focus their energy, time, and effort on that task or goal to create change, rather than stressing about things that are out of their power.
By focusing on this they will be able to make better decisions that will make them feel happier and more productive.
