This complete thumbs up/ thumbs down game is based on the book My Mouth is a Volcano by Julia Cook. However, you DO NOT need to have read the book for this game to work.
This is a great way to review when it is appropriate to interrupt or not!
The teacher reads the situation and the class decides if it would be okay to interrupt or not. There are 20 slides of scenarios. If they choose the wrong answer, the TRY AGAIN slide invites them to talk to a partner about why waiting or interrupting would be the correct choice.
You can also create your own scenarios. Use this anytime the class is having a hard time deciding when it is appropriate to interrupt.
Also included is a printable sheet where they can circle yes or no.
