My Calm Down Plan: A Student Support Brochure

Students often struggle with big emotions. This brochure was created to help students identify what emotion they are struggling with. This can be a self guiding tool for students who are able to read, or a tool for teachers to use to guide students who are not able to read. The tri-fold brochure guides a student through reflection of what happened in the moment, choosing coping skills that they can use in the moment to calm down, amending a situation with someone involved, moving on with next steps, and concluding by remembering affirmative mantras about themselves and their feelings. This is ideal for elementary students, but can be applicable to any age.
