Musically Montessori: Asia, Chinese Ribbon Dancing and More!

Montessori Style Lesson Plan Activities from Magical Movement Company featuring Chinese Ribbon Dancing for Young Children. Great fun for celebrating the Chinese New Year or for enhancing your Cultural Studies activities for Asia.
First Lesson is actually a group of activities about the rain & wind using rainbow ribbons or scarves. This prepares the child for the more focused movement of Chinese Ribbon Dancing. I learned these "moves" from my Chinese dance teacher, Lily Cai of San Francisco.
The third set of activities centers on a favorite of the children: focused listening to the sound of a gong. If you don't happen to have a gong, there is a download link for a perfect recording you can use for this activity which has been very popular with my Preschool groups.
The Printables Materials include classic Montessori Vocabulary Cards, Command Cards , 3-Part Nomenclature Cards, Booklet Making for "Parts of the Gong", and lots of Chinese Language cards all with control cards for children to correct their own work.
