The music and culture of Mexico is so rich, and this engaging unit is a great way to incorporate it in your elementary music classes. This unit includes activities for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, with printables, movement, and digital activities. Spread out the activities to use them for a Country of the Month or use them in a condensed manner for a week-long deep dive, or as five sub plans for a long-term sub or maternity leave.

What you need to use this resource
You’ll need internet connection; a way to project, such as an interactive whiteboard; access to a copier for the printables; and pencils and crayons. The optional “make your own instruments” activities require other supplies like toilet paper tubes, poster board, and paint. There are also four children's book suggestions inside the pacing guides.
