Description
This is a full unit of Saint-Saens' The Carnival of the Animals, for use in K-6 music classrooms OR in a classroom for a teacher that loves music!

This carefully designed unit examines nine movements of Camille Saint-Saens' The Carnival of the Animals. Each lesson includes a wide variety of activities that can be mixed and matched to suit your teaching needs- need a fun one class activity? Have an Aquarium class! Want to spend two weeks on The Royal March of the Lion? You'll find everything you need here. Spend a week on Saint-Saens, or a whole semester! The resources are here to allow you to do either. Help your students to experience quality program music while learning key points of musical literacy.

3. Movement III. Swift Animals / Movement IV. Tortoises
4. Movement V. The Elephant
5. Movement VI. Kangaroos

As many of the activities are easily adaptable, this unit can be used in classrooms from Kindergarten through Grade 6.! As a bonus, I have included tips on creating a concert with your students that the parents will love, all based around The Carnival of the Animals!
This unit would work wonderfully as a school project, where music teacher and classroom teachers work cooperatively, or as simply a music room or classroom based activity.
