This Thinksheet helps form student response to the TED Talk "The Humor of Haydn" through guiding questions about form, structure, and active listening. The questions address the concepts of "main theme" and "episode" and Haydn's use of these in his compositions. Additionally, students are challenged to actively listen to the performance while following an interactive score and relate it to 21st century music practices.
This activity follows the 2014 NAfME Music Standards for Listening/Responding and Connecting.
