Description
These multiplying and dividing fractions story problems are great to use as reinforcement in the classroom or as homework.
These involve strictly fractions - no mixed numbers - in the original problems.
Here are some sample questions:
1. A recipe for cookies calls for 1/4 of a tablespoon of salt. How much salt would you need to bake 8 batches of cookies?
2. 5/8 of the students in your class have brown hair. Of those students, 1/2 have brown eyes. What fraction of the students have both brown hair and brown eyes?
3. 3/8 of a barrel of peanuts are used in each batch of fudge. 3/4 of a barrel of peanuts were used yesterday. How many batches of fudge were made yesterday?
