Description

Need a fun way for students to determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers? They will love this collaborative coloring challenge!

These problems are a great way to help students connect multiplication and division.

Here's how this coloring activity works:

Students work in groups of 4. Each group member gets a different sheet of math problems to solve. They color the spaces according to the solutions. Once all 4 pieces are complete and assembled, a picture of a pug in a suit and tie is revealed.

Students will know if answers are wrong if the picture looks wrong. You might have students check their answers before coloring. However, if some spaces are colored incorrectly, it will help you quickly spot misconceptions!

The problems in this worksheet set only involve whole numbers within 100. Students have a solution bank with numbers 0-10, so they can substitute values to test them out.

Answer keys are included. Check out the preview!
