Description

These multiplication brochures and mini books make practicing multiplication facts and strategies a lot more fun! There is one brochure and little book for each set of facts from x1 through x10.

Each brochure includes multiple ways for students to model and practice multiplication:

  • arrays
  • repeated addition
  • skip counting
  • making equal groups
  • multiplication facts table
  • word problem
  • commutative property (not mentioned by name but demonstrated with equations written and modeled with numbers in both positions)

The x1 brochure/book also includes an explanation of the identity property.

The content in the brochure vs. mini book is nearly identical. They are just provided in two different formats for you to choose from.

These activities are a great way for students to practice a variety of multiplication strategies and start learning their math facts. They can be used as a math center, morning work, or even homework.

Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
